{D.C Park Rangers are way more fun than D.C. Po-Po}

Yep…they are!   This is what we learned today :-)

No- it’s not because dad got arrested.  We had our Washington Monument tour this afternoon and we decided that we LOVE the park rangers that take you on the tour.  They were absolutely hysterical!  The first one was an older man that cracked lots of jokes for us while we waited and then the next two were younger guys that reminded us of Jim from The Office.

While we were waiting to take the elevator down to the bottom Caroline said something like, “what do you guys want to do for lunch?”  and before any of us could even respond the park ranger says, “I could go for some tacos!”   We just kept talking from there and he was really funny.  There was a group of annoying high school students (I think they were from an “alternative school”) taking the elevator down with us and the park ranger pretty much made fun of them the whole way down without being completely obvious about it.  It was one of those things that in order for me to tell the story and make you understand how funny it was, you would have to be able to hear to tone and sarcasm in my voice.  He really was exactly like Jim off The Office.

We actually wanted him to go to lunch with us….but we forgot to ask :-)

Before we did the Washington Monument, we took the Trolley Tour to the National Cathedral.  It was GORGEOUS!!!!  I could have spent a good 3 hours taking pictures, but we had to leave in order to make it to our Monument tour on time.

After the Cathedral and the Monument, we headed the Smithsonian Museum of American history.  Honestly, the only reason we picked that one first was because it was closest and we were HUNGRY.    That museum was very cool and we spent the rest of our day there.  I didn’t take a ton of pictures because I don’t like using my flash (I feel like it annoys people) but I did get quite a few cool ones.

After that we made our trek home, ate all our leftovers for dinner & now we are watching The Bachelor Wedding………we aren’t big fans :-)    We all need to get to bed early because we need to be out of the house by 6:45 AM to make it to our White House Tour by 7:30.  Say your prayers that dad keeps everything in check!!!  He got a little taste of the White House earlier today when we walked past it to get to our Monument tour…don’t worry, we all took lots of pictures :-)

Here are some pictures from today!

anddddddddd good night!  I don’t think I will have many pictures tomorrow because I can’t bring my camera to the White House and we won’t really have time (or want to walk) to get back to the house to get it.  We shall see!

Waiting 45 mins for the Trolley! It was a tad bit chilly this morning :-)

  1. Just so you know, I think Obama it out of town. He is actually going to be in St. Louis on Wednesday. So tell Dad not to waste his time.

    • I think he was in Philly pushing his health care bill. I guess he’s pretty pissy that it’s not going to pass soon. Oh I feel so bad for him. :) Not really.

      The pics of the cathedral were amazing. The lighting is beautiful … all those colors. We can’t wait to hear all about the White House.
